How We Make Money
We earn commissions when you click certain links on our site and then sign up or deposit at a betting operator. This is called affiliate marketing, and it's how we fund this website.
Here's exactly how it works:
- You click a link to a betting site on our page
- A tracking code identifies that you came from us
- If you register and/or deposit, we receive a commission from that operator
The commission varies by operator, sometimes it's a flat fee, sometimes a percentage of the operator's net revenue from your account. We have no visibility into your personal betting activity or results.
What This Costs You
Nothing extra. You pay the same prices, get the same odds, and receive the same bonuses as someone who typed the operator's URL directly into their browser. Operators pay us from their marketing budget, not from your pocket.
How This Affects Our Content
What We Won't Do
- Recommend an operator we wouldn't use ourselves
- Inflate ratings because an operator pays higher commissions
- Hide problems to protect a commercial relationship
- Cover unlicensed or unsafe operators regardless of what they'd pay us
What We Will Do
- Publish critical assessments of operators we have affiliate deals with, when warranted
- Decline partnerships with operators that don't meet our standards
- Remove affiliate links immediately if an operator loses their license or we discover serious problems
- Explain publicly when and why we remove an operator
Our Track Record
We've declined affiliate partnerships with operators who approached us but didn't meet our licensing or trust standards. We don't name them, that would be unfair without a full review, but the offers existed and we said no.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
Links to betting operators on our site are affiliate links unless we specifically state otherwise. These links:
- Open in a new tab
- Are marked with our affiliate tracking
- Appear in designated "visit site" buttons and operator cards
Links to regulators, support organizations, and informational resources are not affiliate links. We don't earn anything when you click through to GamCare, the MGA, or similar organizations.
Why We Chose This Model
Affiliate marketing lets us provide information without charging you to read it. The alternative would be a subscription model or paywalled content, which would limit who can access gambling education.
We believe this model works as long as we're honest about it, which is why this page exists. You deserve to know how we're funded so you can factor that into how you evaluate our content.
The Value We Provide Without Affiliate Links
Even if you never click an affiliate link, this site should be useful to you. Our guides explain how gambling works. Our methodology helps you evaluate operators yourself. Our responsible gambling resources connect you to support if you need it.
If you use our information to choose an operator and go directly to their site without using our link, that's fine. We'd rather you make a good decision than click our link and make a bad one.
The affiliate model has a bad reputation in gambling because many sites abuse it, recommending whoever pays the most, hiding problems, using manipulative tactics to drive clicks. We think there's a better way: be honest, provide real value, and trust that readers will use our links when we've earned that trust.
